Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Michael Kilburn, 82, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Jewish Hospital Downtown Louisville. He was a native of Hueysville, KY, a lifetime member of VFW, and was a retired Command Sargent Major for the United States Army after 24 years of service, He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kilburn and Flora Tackett Kilburn; a step mother, Hattie Kilburn; three brothers, William Kilburn Jr., Joel Kilburn, and Jessie Kilburn; and two sisters, Marcella Shephard amd Arlene Kilburn. He is survived by his wife, Deloris Mae Reesor Kilburn; three sons, Michael Wayne (Karen) Kilburn of Indiana, James Caswel (Deborah) Kilburn of Munfordville, and Timothy Kilburn of Hardyville; two daughters, Kathy Darlene Dugger of Indiana and Angela Mae Lake of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Annett Hicks, Mabel Hicks, and Carol Caudill all of Indiana; eight grandchildren, David Kilburn, Brandon Kilburn, Ryan Kilburn, Megan Kilburn, Stephanie Kilburn, Casey Kilburn, Chelsea Dugger, and Sierra Lake; and three great granchildren, Harley Riggs, Andrew Hendrix, and Landon Riggs. The funeral is at 11 a.m Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Perda Hicks and Bro. Happy Chandler officiating. Burial follows at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
