Albert Melvin Hunt

Albert Melvin "Mel" Hunt, born in Vine Grove on December 26, 1923, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII, retired from General Telephone, was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lexington and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Vanoy Hunt; his parents, Clara French Hunt and Stanley Hunt; sisters, Thelma Kerrick, Clara Mae Horn, Virginia Cosby, Margie Kennedy, Helen McDowell and Betty Brown and brothers, James Franklin Hunt and his identical twin brother, Clyde Elvin Hunt. He is survived by two brothers, Stanley "Skip" Hunt of Minnesota and David Andrew Hunt (Sondy) of Texas; a sister-in-law, Luwanna Hunt of Brandenburg and numerous nieces and nephews, including his caregivers David and Kim Hunt of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Thomas officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lexington Cemetery.
