James Nathaniel Gordon

James Nathaniel Gordon, 28 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was a native of Grayson County and a member of Clarkson Baptist Church. He served in the Army National Guard in Iraq, where he received the Army Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon and National Defense Service Medal. He was a security guard for Alpha Security and was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle who loved fishing and football. He was passionate about his family and the military and loved to laugh and loved God. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claudia Austin, Eva Marie and Bill Gordon and Velma and Arthur Miller. He is survived by his wife, Danielle Gordon of Custer; a daughter, Adison Paige Gordon of Louisville; a step daughter, Faith Ann; his mother and step father, Teresa Ann and Dale Sowards of Elizabethtown; his father, Harold Bruce Gordon of Big Clifty; four brothers, Terry Ray of Ashland City, TN, Tony Ray and Justin Gordon both of Elizabethtown and Bruce Gordon of Leitchfield his grandparents, Presley and Carolyn Austin of Nashville, TN; his step grandparents, John and Sharon Sowards of Eastview; his mentors, Brian Payton, Danny Satterfield and Sgt. Major Chumley and his service dog Rambo. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
