Jackie Leon McGuffin, 76, passed away at University of Louisville Hospital on Sunday, October 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was a native of Hardin County, a member of Berean Baptist Church, and he sang in the Christinares Gospel Group for 24 years. He was a 1957 graduate of Howevalley High School and was a retired Manager of Houchens Market. where he worked for 43 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mayme McGuffin and one sister, Lina Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alma McGuffin; two sons, Michael (Mechelle) McGuffin of Crestwood and Troy (Marilyn) McGuffin of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Monica (Rick) DeSpain of Maryville, TN; 3 brothers, Jesse McGuffin and Rev. Roger (Barbara) McGuffin all of Elizabethtown, and Bernie (Jeannie) McGuffin of Cecilia; 2 sisters, Teresa (Danny) Helm of Magnolia and Diana (Greg) Williams of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Roger McGuffin and Rev. Randy Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in Etown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 pm and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
