Marlin Routte Carroll, 81, of Elizabethtown died Friday July 18, 2014 at Helmwood Health Care. She was a native of Hardin County; she retired as the Gift Shop Manager in Hardin Memorial Hospital and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the Glendale Class '50, a member of the Glendale Alumni Association, HMH Auxiliary, Santa Maria Society, and a Girl Scout Leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie T. Routte, Sr. and Oma Catherine Hornback Routte; three brothers, Gene Routte, Elzie Routte, Jr., and Ellis Routte. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Bob) Kleinhenz of Hot Springs, AR; J. Michael Carroll, Alesa (Rick) Walters, Samra (Gary) Franklin, Susan (Dean) Koeneman all of Elizabethtown; a brother, D. L. Routte of Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren, Sarah Klienhenz, Rachel (Jacob) Addie, Leah Carroll, Scott (Kaila) Carroll, Robert (Angela) Walters, Reid Walters, Clay Franklin, Leighanne Franklin, Molly Koeneman and Seth Koeneman; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Olivia Addie. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be 7 p.m. Monday.
