Condolences - Lawson R. Stevens

Lawson was a beautiful person. He always stopped to say hello on his daily walks & gladly shared his big smile with people. His warm heart made one feel very comfortable & welcome in his presence. He will be truly missed. God has another angle by his side.

Lawson served as my tech director at the US Army Computer Systems Command, Europe. A more professional or nicer man I have never known. Of particular interest to me, the command at the time was being drawn down and it's personal positions returned to US Army Europe vs the US Army Computer Command. This was due to dissatisfaction with CSC at the time, but made no sense otherwise. Lawson and I put together a powerful briefing explaining why. Europe's senior automater, a BG Ralph, agreed and carried the message to CINC Europe, while I briefed the division commanders and their staff's. We won the day when the C/ US Army changed his initial decision - it was the right thing to do and we proved it, it made a big difference. May God bless Lawson, Pat and the rest of their family.

So sorry to hear about Lawson’s death. He was such an interesting, intelligent, and thoughtful family man. His stories were a joy to read. Nothing meant more to him than his beautiful wife and children. The world just got a little smaller.

We knew Steve was going to leave this world, but it was still very painful. He was the kindest and most knowledgeable friend we ever had. His memory will live in our hearts forever.
