Condolences - Camille Crunelle Hill

Camille brought a world of music and grace to her every endeavor. She and Bob were treasures. I wish the family peace and comfort.

Ann and Yvonne: I enjoyed working and talking with Camille and regret that I was never able to finish the music course I started with her in 1999. I know you will miss her

Working with Camille at ECC/ECTC for over 38 years was a real pleasure. Her talent was extraordinary and we benefited in so many ways. She played at our wedding in 1980, played accompaniment for various skits and performances that Joella took part in, and even shared her gift of playing the piano by teaching Joella in her mid thirties to play—a lifelong dream fulfilled. Chuck often said Camille was the smartest person in the room and most talented. We will miss her musical skills and her unparalleled enthusiasm in sharing the arts with the community. We hope her family finds comfort knowing that their mother lives on in the talent she shared.

Mrs. Hill was a joy to know. I had her for Introduction to Music and enjoyed her class and also learned so much. Her class was a joy to be in. She was "a breath of fresh air." at ECC. Whenever I know a clue about music on the show, "Jeopardy," it is mostly because of what I learned in her class. She also helped me when I was reading a book in the French language for my research requirement for my master's in English at WKU. I also was on the Hardin County Arts Council with her. ECC was a better place to be because of her teaching, etc.

We will never forget Camille and Bob. We moved next door to each other about the same time. Camille was such a kind and genuine person, never a bad word about anyone. In her later days, I remember seeing Camille picking up sticks and tree branches out in her yard. She seem to really enjoy being outside working in her yard. We would talk briefly and she would tell me that Bob wouldn't like his yard cluttered with all these tree branches. She would just smile at me. She will be missed as our neighbor... We will continue to look over there at her house remembering Camille, she will be missed by Grove and me and all that knew her. With deepest regrets, Grove and Susan Lowrie

I first met Camille when she was completing her PhD; I served on the committee that guided her work on Messiaen. It was my good fortune to have her as a student in graduate French classes at UofL. She set a standard for students in that program that was never matched; we faculty used her as a reference point: "niveau Camille." I have learned of her death late and hope that her family will see this tardy note of remembrance and condolence. What a fine woman, outstanding musician, excellent student! I feel lucky to have known her.
