I was in the 4th grade at St. Catherine when I met Lois. It was the first class of two Lois taught. It was so refreshing to have a teacher other than a nun. Every boy in the class, including me, fell in love with Lois. I remember riding my bike up to where Lois lived. It was a thrill when she came to the door and greeted me. I will never forget Lois. She was a great teacher and human being.

Lois taught our children at St. James School. We became friends over the years, often meeting at church gatherings or grocery stores. I was a secretary at Gates in 1966-1968 in the department where Loren was working. We thought so much of both Mary and Loren, having many conversations through the years about our children mostly. Our sincere condolences go to the family, especially the children. May God be with you all through this difficult time. Your mom was a very special, kind lady.
