Dorit Waltrout Schneider Nunn, 87, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born May 21, 1936 in Egeln, Germany. While studying retail in marketing, she met a young Army soldier, and they were married July 10, 1957. After coming to the states and following her husband to numerous military posts, Dorit made her home in Elizabethtown in 1970. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and retired from Big Lots in 2023. Dorit was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Nunn; her mother, Erika Schneider; a sister, Christa Muhlberg; a sister-in-law, Flossie Goodman; and four brothers-in-law. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Moore; a brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Nunn; several nieces, nephews, and many dearly loved co-workers at Big Lots. A celebration of life is 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor Kevin Roberts officiating. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation starts 11 A.M.
