James Michael "Mike" Pyles, 78 of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was in the Army Reserves for 6 years and was the manager of Owen Produce Co. from 1977 to 1985. He loved horse racing, his dog, and mostly his grandsons. They moved back from Florida just to see his grandchildren grow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cleaver Pyles and Mary Roxie Spalding Pyles; and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Darlene Pyles of Elizabethtown; two children, Michael (Beth) Pyles and Melissa Pyles, both of Elizabethtown; one sister, Darlene Hamilton of Louisville; and three grandsons, Davis (Allie) Pyles, Ben Pyles, and Ryan Pyles. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation begins Tuesday at 10 a.m. and continues until the time of the service.
