Barry Alan Borders, 60 of Elizabethtown, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Baptist East Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Patrice Schimmels Borders and two sons, Britt (Sara) Borders and Braden (Kelsie Orman) Borders all of Elizabethtown. He was a native of Elizabethtown, a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a Regional Maintenance Project Leader for AGC. He loved his AGC family and loved to spend time with his kids,and was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. He spent a lot of time working at the farm and gardening. He was part of the White Mills Baptist Church family. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Franklin and Pauline Hatfield Borders and his father-in-law, Maurice Schimmels. He is survived by his wife, Patrice Schimmels Borders and two sons, Britt (Sara) Borders and Braden (Kelsie Orman) Borders all of Elizabethtown; his mother-in-law, Janie Schimels of Elizabethtown;a grandson, Jon; his dog Lincoln and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jean Gonzolez-Romero officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
