Billy Gene Cofer, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. Billy was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Knox and was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Margaret Cofer. Billy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Cofer of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Diane Dailey of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Louis and Carl Cofer; two sisters, Betty Sue Howe and Mary Lou Mobley; two grandchildren, Whitney and Erin Dailey, both of Elizabethtown; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Lexi. The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Emory Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 11 a.m. Sunday and continues until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy make take the form of donations to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
