Edward "Eddie" Levern Grimshaw, Sr., 63, of Bonnieville, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin Elizabethtown. Eddie graduated from Vassar High School in 1977. He began his career with the United States Postal Service immediately after his 10 years of service in the Army. He absolutely loved being a mail carrier. Eddie was also a licensed foster parent since 2012. He was actively involved with all the kids' athletics and a tremendous school volunteer. Eddie had a huge heart and was compassionate toward all. He would literally give the shirt off of his back. He was also an avid supporter of M.D.A. (Muscular Dystrophy Association) and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta Kribs Grimshaw; a son, Edward Levern Grimshaw, II; and a sister, Waneta "Neta" Scharff. He is survived by his wife, Erenia Grimshaw of Bonnieville; his father, Francis Grimshaw of Morehead, KY; three sons, Cody Grimshaw, Gabriel Grimshaw, and Skylar Grimshaw; three daughters, Kyrstie Marie Grimshaw, Leda Grimshaw, and Racquel Grimshaw; eight foster children, Bradley, Jazmin, Scarlet, Tristan, Rylee, Liam, Kenneth, and Athan; one brother, Ivan (Deborah) Grimshaw of Morehead, KY; and one sister, Janet (Steven) Young of Morehead, KY. The funeral is 4 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial with military honors will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff at a later date.
