Jauanita Hill Morris, age 90 of Cecilia, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Kenneth B. Morris, age 92, of Cecilia, passed away a few days later on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Indian Creek Nursing Home. They were married for 72 years and together they loved to travel, having been to all 50 states in the United States. They were members of Cecilia Baptist Church, where they were active in Sunday School class. Jauanita was a native of Hardin County and a member of Cecilia Homemakers. She retired from banking, where she started at the The Cecilian Bank and ended at First Citizens Bank. She was a homemaker who worked and lived off the family farm and enjoyed watching the "deere" from seed to harvest season. She was a fabulous pianist and organist. She sang at church weddings and funerals. Kenneth was a native of Breckinridge County and was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Agriculture Lending Business and continued his own farming operation. He also served as a Deacon at his church for many years. Jauanita was preceded in death by her parents, Styles and Mabel Esther Hoover Hill. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eudoxie Marr Morris; a brother, Ralph Morris; and a sister, Ruth Ann Thompson. They were both preceded in death by their son-in-law, Hugh Slatery. They are survived by their three children, Richard Morris of Walton, Darrell (Vickie) Morris of Howevalley and Danita Morris Slatery of Lexington; six grandchildren, Leandra Morris Zimmerman (Matthew), Joshua Morris, Benjamin J. Morris (Meagan), Carter Hill Slatery, Van Slatery and Grace Slatery; and two great-grandchildren, Camden Zimmerman and Kinsley Zimmerman. A joint funeral will be Saturday at 12 noon at Cecilia Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Davis and Pastor Erdie Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Constantine Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home and continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at Cecilia Baptist Church.
