John Joseph Aluza

John Joseph Aluza, 61 of Elizabethtown, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Jewish Hospital. He served ten years in the Navy, attended Grace Heartland Church and was a retired DODEA teacher from Fort Knox Middle High School. While teaching there, he also served as an Assistant Football Coach, an Assistant Wrestling Coach and Boys Tennis Coach. He loved the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. His favorite college team was the Clemson Tigers. He had accepted Jesus Christ and deeply enjoyed sharing his faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Francis and Pearl Aluza. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Elizabethtown; two "bonus" daughters, Kimberlee Washington of Louisville and Rosalynne Duff of Atlanta, GA; two "bonus" granddaughters, lmani and Olivia Washington of Louisville; Aunt Rosalie Lada of New Bedford MA; his siblings, Karen Hale of Vennedy, IL, Cindy (Mike) Yianopoulus of Goose Creek, SC, Pearl (Merle) Jones of Rock Hill, SC, and Tom Aluza of Australia; 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 5 great nieces and 7 great nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 24th at 2:30 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
