Gerald T. "Jerry" Fowler

Gerald T. "Jerry" Fowler, 80, of Colesburg, Kentucky entered into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 21, 2022. He was a native of Hardin County and a 1961 graduate of Elizabethtown Catholic High School. For 35 years he worked in Civil Service as the Director of cost estimation and construction project management for the U. S. Department of Defense at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He also worked nearly another decade in construction project management for various private contractors at Ft. Knox. In his leisure time he loved square dancing and clogging with his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Paula. He was an avid bass player for 44 years in a number of bluegrass/gospel bands and loved to play at many music venues and churches around the region. In the final 15 years of his life, he loved spending time with his grandson Lincoln Fowler, watching him play baseball and grow up. Jerry will be missed by his family and many good friends he made throughout the years. As a longtime member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Colesburg, he devoted countless hours of service to the Church as the annual picnic chairman for nearly 25 years and was involved in many maintenance and improvement projects of the church and community hall buildings over several years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Wise Fowler, his parents, Charles K. and Elizabeth Fowler, and two brothers, Stephen Fowler and Frank Fowler (Carol). Survivors include one daughter, Jeryl Trail (Rob) of Mt. Washington; one son, Lane Fowler (Brandi) of Bowling Green; one grandson, Lincoln Fowler of Bowling Green; two brothers, Mike (Sissy) Fowler and William "Bill" (Vicki) Fowler; one sister, Norma Bauer; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Clare Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.
