Vivian Gail Mink Murphy

Vivian Gail Mink Murphy, 90, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022. She was a native of Rockcastle County, KY. Vivian loved her entire family, enjoyed playing cards (Rook & solitaire), and was a die-hard Republican. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Eastern Star, a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church, and retired from E-town Sportswear where she worked for over 30 years. Vivian was a talented cook and will forever be remembered for her chicken & dumplings and turkey & dressing. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, James Garfield and Mattie Parrett Mink; a sister, Virginia Cromer; and five brothers, Carter, George, David, Wesley, and James Mink. Vivian (known as Mom, Mama Viv, Sis, & Aunt Viv) is survived by her son, Ronnie (Sandy) Murphy of Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Rhonda Murphy (Tanner) Kitchen of Elizabethtown and Autumn (Matt) Bryant of Evans, GA; seven great grandchildren she called her babies, Regan, Xavier, & Kyla Tindall all of Elizabethtown and Elle, Emma Claire, Viviana, & Marisa Bryant all of Evans, GA; her dear brother and favorite Rook competitor, Harvey (Mary Ellen) Mink of Elizabethtown; and a very special sister-in-law, Doll Mink and her daughter, LuAnn (Duston) Alford. Vivian also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews all who meant the world to her. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 30th from 10 a.m to 10:45 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home followed by a graveside service and burial at 11 a.m. at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with Bro.
