Russell Eugene Megale, 70, of Big Clifty, KY, died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was a native of Adrian, MI and a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He was formerly the union president of Dura Corporation in Adrian and the owner of Russ' Tree Service. Following his retirement, he began working for Cleveland Track and Material, where he built the switches and crossovers for New York City following the 911 Attacks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jennie Megale; two brothers, Glenn Megale, Jr. and Paul Megale; a sister, Cynthia Dunson; and a grandson, Piers Bitgood. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sherrie Megale of Big Clifty, KY; a son, Thomas Megale of Big Clifty, KY; three daughters, Gina (Doyle) Bitgood of Bozrah, CT, Theresa Rigg of Milwaukee, WI, and Fredda Kay Megale of Salem, IN; a brother, Greg (Missy) Megale of Adrian, MI; two sisters, Shirley (John) Morton and Theresa Karr, both of Adrian, MI; 10 grandchildren, Katlynn (Logan) Dess, Brandon Bitgood, Kallie Bitgood, Ashlynn Bitgood, Anthony Bitgood, Breanna Williams, Ambrose Williams, Laura Russell, Micheal Megale, and Elijah Megale; two great granddaughters, Nova and Mary; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday at Grandview Baptist Church in Cecilia, KY with Rev. Rick Breeze officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
