Leonard Sloan, 86 of Elizabethtown, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Hardin County and a lifetime member of Valley Creek Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for the Valley Creek Fire Department and did law maintenance at Fort Knox. He was an outdoorsman, loved to mow and travel and loved his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ilene Sloan; one daughter, Bonita Kay Sloan; a brother, Harvey Sloan and two sisters, Adamae McCombs and Pauline Castle. He is survived by his son, Gregory (Teresa) Sloan of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Lisa Kay (Fred) Newton of Elizabethtown, siblings, Herman Sloan, Fred Sloan and Shirley Kiper both of Kansas; two grandchildren, Stacy Mosley and Shania Barnes and eight great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Valley Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery.
