Born in Selb, Germany, July 22, 1926, Eva McGuire, 95, died April 3, 2022, at Kensington Center, Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McGuire, United States Army, retired. The couple met and were later married in Germany. Eva and their then eight-year-old daughter, Loretta McGuire Maglinger, came to the United States in 1957. In addition to Loretta, Eva is survived by her son-in-law, John Maglinger; two grandsons, Cory (Shannon) and Kelly; a great-grandson, Jackson; and several relatives, including nieces Heidi Pouch and Evi Stankich, of Arlington, Texas. Determinedly independent, following the death of her husband in 1981 and until her health failed at age ninety-three, Eva continued to live for more than forty years at her residence in Elizabethtown. Rather than a memorial service and visitation, Mrs. McGuire asked her daughter to "live out and enjoy the day and remember how it was." ___________________
