Mildred Kathryn Buckles Owsley, 90, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on March 22, 2022. She worked as a personnel manager for the K-Mart Company until she retired in 1997. She was a member of Cecilia Baptist Church located in Cecilia, KY for over 60 years. Mildred was active in her church over the years where she taught Sunday School, VBS, and cooked dinners in the church kitchen for various events. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Burr Owsley on December 3, 2014. Mildred was the daughter of the late Jesse James Buckles and Susie Genrose (Stewart) Buckles. She was also preceded by a sister Dorothy Evelyn (Buckles) Bush and a son-in-law, Robert L. Spalding. Mildred is survived by one sister, Susie Janette Buckles Grooms (Paul) and by two children, Donald H. Owsley (Ruth) of Alexandria, KY, and Cherri Rebecca Owsley Spalding of Elizabethtown, KY. Grandchildren include Lauren Whitney Owsley Kapeluck (Randolph), Emily Kyle Owsley Hall (Tracey), Adam Charles Spalding (Brittany), and Logan Patrick Spalding (Christina). Great grandchildren include Samuel Kapeluck, Lily Kapeluck, Henry Hall, Charlie Hall, Braelyn Spalding, Brody Spalding, and Marley Spalding. There are several nieces and nephews as well. Visitation 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2022, at Cecilia Baptist Church. Funeral Ceremony will follow at the church at 1:00 pm.
