Kerry Lee Edwards

Kerry Lee Edwards, 57, of Big Clifty formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Jewish Hospital. Kerry worked throughout his career alongside his father in commercial and residential construction and in the scrap metal industry for Edwards Construction and Edwards Recycling respectively. He was a devoted Christian and active member of Grace Heartland Church and served in the Gideons jail ministry. An avid outdoorsman, Kerry greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating and playing golf with friends and family. Archery, target shooting and gunsmithing were also among his hobbies, and he displayed skill and passion for each. Additionally, working on and restoring classic cars, specifically Ford Mustangs, was one of his favorite pastimes. Kerry was fun loving, quick to laugh, and his outgoing personality could light up any room. He loved his wife, children, grandchild, family and friends dearly and will be sorely missed by many. Kerry was preceded in death by his grandparents Ruthie Love, Riley Layman Cecil, Mildred Meade, and Don Edwards. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Deirdre (Deedie) Edwards whom he affectionately called “his angel;” his loving parents Allen Edwards (Donna) and Norita Edwards Lamb; his daughter Ashleigh (Casey) Carraro and son Kody Edwards; his sisters, Alana (John) Meadors and Jill (James) McIntyre; granddaughter, Cayman Carraro; nephews, Logan Bagley, Landon Bagley, and Noah McIntyre; niece, Ciara Bagley; three special great aunts, Debbie Light, Cathay Monin, and Carolyn Hornback; mother in law, Minnie Yates; sisters in law, Kim Raymer and Denise Alvey (Larry); and brother in law, Dale Yates (Teresa). He is also survived by many cousins and some very dear friends who were like family. His beloved dogs Buddy and Baby also survive. The funeral is Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Heartland Church with burial to follow at the Franklin Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation begins at 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the church and continues until service time. To honor Kerry’s love of helping others, the family requests no flowers or gifts.
