Sandra McClain

Sandra (Sandy) Kay Sarver McClain, 68, of Cecilia, passed away Thursday, December 30th, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of Elizabethtown and a Professor at Western Kentucky University Department of Social Work. Sandy was preceded in death by her Father, Dwight Sarver. She was survived by her Mother, Julia Kamer Sarver; three daughters, Leslie (Fernando) Pullen of Nashville TN, Stephanie McClain of Hodgenville, and Katherine (Matthew) Hennemuth of Radcliff; three brothers Keith (Deborah) Sarver, Timothy (Tammy) Sarver, Shawn Sarver; three sisters, Brenda (Bill) Buchwald, Paula (Duc) Do, and Carrie Thompson; seven grandchildren, Brianna Pullen, Everette Pullen, William Walters, Thomas Walters, Faith Toliver, Malachi Toliver, and Darrnel Toliver; her fur baby Taz and a large extended family and friends. After raising three daughters Sandy returned to College and obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work. Sandy was employed by multiple entities including Care Tenders Home Health and Flaget Hospital. She most recently obtained and excelled in her DREAM job as a Professor of Social Work at Western Kentucky University where she was very well respected by her students and colleagues alike. Outside her dedication to Social Work Sandy was adventurous and enjoyed skydiving, white water rafting, and traveling with her siblings. Sandy most adored her time spent at home and vacationing with her children, her many grandchildren, and her fur baby Taz. The funeral will be Monday, January 3rd at 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday and continue until the time of the service.
