Delores Evelyn Emerine

Delores Evelyn Emerine, 91 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Signature Healthcare Elizabethtown. Born in Indianapolis, IN, she was a native of Hardin County, graduated from Howevalley High School, married her high school sweetheart. They spent nearly 70 years together, had three children, two different careers, retiring from Sears in the early 90s, to travel with the love of her life, having accumulated enough miles to have traveled around the world. Evelyn was an avid reader and avid giver. She never passed up an opportunity to wish someone a Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Merry Christmas, sending out hundreds of cards every year to friends and family. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the Stephensburg Eastern Star. She was a CandyStriper at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Den Mother, Travel and Life Companion. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ollie Bennett Emerine, MD USN MC; a son Dr. Richard W. Emerine, MD USN MC; her parents, Evan Samuel and Lillie Rose Fryer Duncan; two brothers, Charles Richard Duncan, Willis Wayne Duncan and sisters, Beverly Ann Ackley, Eunice Aline Lewis, Marilyn Daniels and Alma Lois Dennison; a grandson Matthew Price Emerine. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Gary Keith Emerine (Nancy) of Birmingham, AL and Craig Bennett Emerine (Angie) of Elizabethtown; two daughter-in-laws, Linda Stasak Emerine of Orlando, Florida and Pamela Sullivan Biccum of Oceanside, CA; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The Family would like to thank the staff of Signature Healthcare Elizabethtown and Hospice for caring of Evelyn in her final days. A graveside service was conducted Friday, November 19, at 12 p.m. at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in her name to Memorial United Methodist Church.
