Mary Rose Walters

Mary Rose Walters, 82 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of Green County, was a cook at Fort Knox and Sunrise Manor. She and Jim loved to entertain the residents at nursing homes, he played the music and she socialized and danced. She was an avid UK fan and was a wonderful Nana to Marshall and Luke, whom she watched while their parents worked. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordell and Dorothy Lillian Pendleton Harris and a sister, Barbara O'Neal. She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Walters; one son, Tom Riggs of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Monique Berthold (Deron) of Elizabethtown; five step children, Gary Walters, Tod Walters, Becky Travis, Denise Spink and Debbie Green; one brother, Arthur Harris of Hodgenville; one sister, Wilma Jean McAllister of Louisville and two grandchildren, Marshall Riggs and Luke Berthold. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Carlie Riggs and Tod Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideon's International.
