Doris Evelyn Gogan

Doris Evelyn Gogan, 84 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin after a rough bout with COVID-19. She was a native of Hardin County and had attended Vine Grove Baptist Church. She volunteered for Hosparus in Elizabethtown for 15 years and was better known to most as "Aunt Dot." Doris was preceded in death by her parents, George Albert Puckett and Effie Aileen Puckett Skaggs; five brothers, Tom Skaggs, Rudolph Skaggs, Cover Skaggs, Robert Owen Skaggs, and Macy Skaggs; one sister, Wanda Skaggs Jenkins; and her husband, Arthur Gogan whom she shared the family memories of a glorious lifetime! She is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Tim) Hinson, Wendy (Allan) Daugherty, and Vickie (John) York; a very special adopted niece, Cindi Jackson; and two step children, Kenneth Gogan and Angela Faye Gogan Breedlove. She has nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren that have spanned five generations: Tanya Blanton, Melanie Salyers, Amber Daugherty, Misty Ledlow, Shea McCarty, Aleck McCarty, Cassie McCarty, Devon York, Caden York, Donnie, Mike, Steve Skaggs, Charlotte Bennett, Shelbi and Alex Salyers, Andrew and Abigail Critchelow, Makenzie Smith, Brantley Salyers, and Hunter Ledlow.
