Bro. John R. Clark

Bro. John R. Clark, 84, of Eastview, died July 9, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. He began his ministry as a pastor at Pole Bridge Baptist Church. He was also the pastor of Rough Creek Baptist Church. John loved history and telling stories. He was also a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and a KY Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Clark Sr. and Alma George; a sister, Betty Coyle; and a brother, Jesse Nusz Clark. He is survived by his wife of 63 1/2 years, Gladys Daughtery Clark of Eastview; one son, Stephen Clark of Eastview; one daughter, Theresa Clark of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Douglas "Littie" Clark of Cecilia and Francis Eugene Clark of Washington D.C.; two grandchildren, Jamie (Robert) Grissom of South Carolina and Bryan Clark of Elizabethtown; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Allyson, Ian, and Robert Grissom, Jr. all of South Carolina. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13 at Rough Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Kasper Underwood officiating. Burial follows in Pole Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home and continues after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Condolences may be expressed at brownfuneral.com.
