Lee Roy Sherrard, 79, of Elizabethtown died Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He graduated from Rineyville School in 1959 and retired from Crucible Steel after 40 years of service. He loved classic cars, he always owned them and enjoyed going to car shows. He also loved classic country music. He played acoustic guitar and songs since being in a band from the 1970's. He always enjoyed being with family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter what we were involved in he was always ready to pitch in and help. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Sherrard and Edna Nall; stepfather, Jesse Nall Sr.; and a brother, Clifford Sherrard. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Norma Jean Sherrard; a brother, Roger Sherrard; two sisters, Brenda Cottrell and Linda Light; three children, Sandra (Greg) Howard, Phyllis (Jimmy) Raymer, and Kevin (Stephanie) Sherrard all of Elizabethtown; three step children, Rick (Vivian) Bumgardner of Glendale, Monica Bumgardner of Elizabethtown, and Michelle (Terry) Lucas of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Steven Howard, Crystal Moore, and Travis Wells; eight step grandchildren, Allison Bumgardner, Melissa Hawkins, Rachel Coomer, Erik Bumgardner, Matthew Lucas, Katy Lucas, Kyle Lucas, and Jessica Anderson; four great grandchildren, Zachary, Abigail, Alyssa, and Brooklyn; and five step great grandchildren; Jackson, Eli, Conner, Emma, and Bo. The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Arnold Moon officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
