Simon David Heighway

Simon David Heighway, age 64, of Elizabethtown, passed peacefully at home Sunday April 25, 2021. A New Zealand native, Simon was a loving husband and father. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he certainly kept the faith. He will be remembered for his genuine compassion and eagerness to help those in need. He was treasured by coworkers at TACK where he supervised fleet maintenance. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and active in Emmaus projects, prison ministries, and missions. He enjoyed gardening, knitting, woodworking, fishing and especially restoring his MGB [Sheila] and long walks with his dog, Mick. Simon was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother. He is survived by his wife, Karen Heighway; four sons, Scott Heighway, Daniel (Ayumi) Logsdon, Dale (Kylie) Heighway, and Stephen (Amanda) Logsdon; two daughters, Ryan (Nathan) Vaughn and Jordan (Scott) Hampton; eight grandchildren, Alissa, Kaisei, Micah, Avery, Cooper, Beckett, Carter, and Ace; and two siblings, Michael (Sharon) Heighway and Jacqui (Norm) Whiteside. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday May 1, 2021 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with service to follow at 2.
