James Roy Harrison

James Roy Harrison, 66, of Rineyville, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Fort Knox, served 23 years active duty in the U.S. Army, and was a Gulf War veteran. His military awards include the bronze star medal, 4th time meritorious service medal, joint service commendation medal, 4th time Army commendation medal, 2nd time Army achievement medal, joint meritorious unit award, national defense service medal, southwest Asia service medal, Army service ribbon, 2nd time overseas service ribbon, liberation medal, Kuwait liberation medal, and a silver star medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Collard Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Clara Johnson Harrison; three sons, Brian (Abbie) Harrison of Louisville, Kyle (Rachel) Harrison of Elizabethtown, and Blair Harrison of Rineyville; four sisters, Patricia Harrison of Vine Grove, Susan Harrison of Louisville, Lisa Harrison of Vine Grove, and Jennifer (Roman) Harrison Hardin of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Dhane, Kya, Anna, Tyler, and Macy Harrison; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lots of friends. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
