David A. Williams

David A. Williams, 81 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center at the Norton Healthcare Pavilion. He was a native of Hardin County, a 1958 graduate of Rineyville High School, and served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He retired from Jenkins and Essex Supply after 30 years and the Hardin County School Board after 10 years. He was a member of the Hardin County Cattleman Association and always loved and raised cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Vester Williams and Mary Laetitia Peak Williams; two sisters, Margaret Gayle Whelan and Doris Jean Bailey; sister-in-law, Shirley Williams; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wiseman and Dude Bailey. He is survived by his son, Michael Todd Williams (April Lynn) of Shepherdsville; daughter, Angela Renate Stearns (John, Jr.) of Mt. Washington; two brothers, Jimmy Williams and Freddie Williams (Mary Ellen) all of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Joyce Ann Champlin (Lewis) of Indianola, Iowa and Martha Ellen Wiseman of Rineyville; brother-in-law Freddy Whelan; five grandchildren, Shelly Pruitt (Daniel), Joshua Stearns (Brooke), Natalie Williams, Greg Smith, and Andrew Smith; five great grandchildren, Kinsley Pruitt, Hadley Pruitt, Journey Stearns, Tatum Boykin, and Callie Warren. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.
