Paul Ella Bogue
Paul Ella Bogue, 96, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Helmwood Healthcare. She was born June 20, 1924 in Hardin County, a graduate from Logan County School, and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star #174 and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was an assistant to Dr. C.K. Smith at Elizabethtown Animal Clinic and she and her husband, Bernie, owned and operated the Park Drive Inn in Elizabethtown in the 60's. Her pies were a staple of the restaurant. She was a wonderful cook, well known for her delicious pies and banana pudding. She and her husband enjoyed searching for antiques and collectibles, trading and selling them. She was devoted to friends and family and often sat with them when they were sick. She loved to square dance, enjoyed card games, dominoes, fishing and traveling. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed cross-stitching. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Louis Bogue; siblings, Ritchie Lee Rich, Charles Richard " Ted" Greenwell, Jr., and Robert L. Greenwell; and parents, Charles Richard Greenwell and Mattie Lee Cave Greenwell. She is survived by her son, John (Regina) Bogue; two grandchildren, Bethany (Allen) Brawner and Brock (Trista) Bogue; four great grandchildren, Bryleigh Brawner, Bryson Brawner, Aila Bogue, and Kaiden Bogue; two sisters, Mary Ruth Dearing and Martha (Frank) Brown; half-sister, Bonnie Lou Murray; sister-in-law, Joan Greenwell; five nieces and six nephews. The family gives a special thank you to Hosparus and the staff at Helmwood for their loving care. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Roger McCurry officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hosparus.
