Herbert C. Richie, 89 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, January 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of McMinn County, TN, he attended Open Valley Baptist Church, was a member of the Vine Grove Masonic Lodge #603 F & AM and the Kosair Shrine Temple in Louisville. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service and later retired from Fort Knox Civil Service where he worked in ammunition storage. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Yvonne Richie; a daughter, Teresa Drake and his parents, Edward and Ada Stephens Richie. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Stillwell Richie; one son, Mike (Roni) Richie of Shelbyville; two daughters, Tamie Richie and Kimberly Honaker both of Cecilia; one brother, William (Hattie) Richie of Logansport, IN; step children, Peggy Moore, Pat (Donna) Goodman, Teresa (Steve) Sebastain, Glenda (Ricky) Goodman and Karen (Kenny) Goodman; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many special friends. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
