Bernard Gary Beeler

Bernard Gary Beeler, 64 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his home. He was a native of Hardin County, a 1973 graduate of West Hardin High School, and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and St. James Catholic Church. Gary was a longstanding member of the NHRA, Knights of Columbus Council #1455, and a Buick enthusiast. He enjoyed working on motors and was a Roofer. He enjoyed drag racing, Nascar events, camping, and cruising in his 1971 Buick GS. He was preceded in death by his by his parents, Lawrence and Althea Singer Beeler. Gary was survived by his wife of 12 years, Christine Edwards Beeler; four children, Wende (Cory) Bailey, Charles (Brittany) Strange, Jr., Steven Strange and Tina Murray Trujillo (Jay); two brothers, Gerald (Reney) Beeler of Crestwood and Donald Beeler of Elizabethtown; one sister, Joan (Bill) Wood of Greenwood, IN; eleven grandchildren, T. J. Bailey, Kaisley Bailey, Peyton Strange, Griffin Strange, Jaxon Strange, Phoenix Strange, Jessica Skaggs, Christina Dowell, Timothy Aubrey, Martina Bunnell and Waylon Trujillo; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. An outdoor Mass will take place on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Beeler's home at 912 Ring Road with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Seating is not provided so bring your own lawn chair. There will be a brief graveside service at St. James Cemetery followed by a traditional bereavement Catholic meal that will be served cafeteria style. All visitors are welcome to attend the meal and share memories of Gary's life. Donations may go to St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
