Anita Sophie Lewis Steuer, 89, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Saturday, August 24, 2019 at her daughter's home. She was a native of Lake County, Indiana and a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was a laborer for Laborors for Christ along with her husband for 11 years and built many churches throughout Kentucky and the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Virgil Steuer; parents, Roy and Hattie Lewis; and her siblings, Harry Lewis, Charles Lewis, Marie Mahler, Shirley Parijko, David Lewis, and Donald Lewis. Survivors include her three sons, Kurt (Penny) Steuer and Randy (Joann) Steuer all of Indianapolis, Indiana and Daniel Steuer of Lexington, South Carolina; two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Davis of Cecilia and Yvonne Steuer of Eugene, Oregon; a sister, Helen (Jerry) Cole of Arizona; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Elizabethtown, KY, with the Rev. Monty Gleitz officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
