Thelma Florence Bernardi, 95, of Rineyville, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Kensington Center. She was a native of Louisville, a member of Big Springs Baptist Church, and retired from Towne Inn in 1993 as a maid. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Charles E. Bernardi; two brothers, Edward Lee Hampton and William Ladusaw; a sister, Marie Erickson; parents, Arthur Martin Hampton and Minnie Lee Ann Malloy Hampton; and a great grandchild. She is survived by 5 sons, George Bernardi, John (Katy) Bernardi, and Charles Thomas "Tommy" (Jeannette) Bernardi all of Rineyville, Earl (Pat) Bernardi of Hopkinton, Iowa, and James (Leisa) Bernardi of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 4 daughters, Karen (Jerry) O'Banion of Brandenburg, Dianne Simpson of Indianapolis, Earlene "Inky" (Sherman) Hoots of Louisville, and Margaret "Peggy" (Marvin) Butterworth of Hardinsburg; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren; and several extended family members. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Tak Oue officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
