Lucille VanMeter Sharer, 86 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her home. She was a native of Hardin County, retired from Duke's Sporting Goods and was an avid sports fan and bowler. She was preceded in death her husband, James Herndon Sharer; her parents, Reginald Curtis and Galena Buckles VanMeter; her siblings, Norma Stewart, Claud VanMeter and Charles William VanMeter and a step son, Mickey Sharer. She is survived by one brother, Reginald VanMeter of Elizabethtown; a step son, Jackie Sharer of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
