Lewis Randall Sampson, 84 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Tunnel Hill Baptist Church. He graduated from Rineyville High School and was the past treasurer of Columbia Lions Club. He loved to fish and hunt, farm and listen to bluegrass and country music. He was UK basketball fan and retired from General Electric in 1995 after 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Ruby Marsh Sampson and one daughter, Stacy Lynn Sampson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rheta Nall Sampson; one daughter, Lisa (Doug) Nelson of Vine Grove; two sons, Brent Sampson and Barry (Kathy Lance) Sampson all of Louisville; six grandchildren, Bradley (Amanda), Brian (Cristina), Kellie (Adam), Eric, Geoffrey and Scott and two great grandchildren, Jakob and Emmalynn. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Looten officiating. Burial will follow in Vine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
