Virginia Leigh Miller, 96, of Cecilia, passed away, Friday, November 30, 2018. She joined Cecilia Baptist Church in 1950 where she was the oldest member, a Sunday school teacher, greeter, and worked in Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a member of Cecilia Homemakers for many years and dearly enjoyed it. She enjoyed reading about Ronald Reagan and George Bush and their families. She loved to cook large meals for holidays and some awesome desserts. She was very active in school activities when her children were attending. She enjoyed gardening and mowing her own yard and adjacent lot for many years and she helped on the farm during planting and harvesting season. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Miller. She is survived by her son, James David Miller (Denise) of Cecilia; daughter, Jeannie Hays (Bill) of Shelbyville; and her niece, Catherine Toney, who grew up with her. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cecilia Baptist Church with Bro. Arnold Moon and Bro. Troy Richards officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
