Diane Kavanaugh Hopkins

Diane Kavanaugh Hopkins, 62, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was a native of Skowhegan, Maine and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She retired from the State of Kentucky Administrative Office of the courts. She was supervisor of specialized court programs, Hardin County Drug Court, Mental Health Court and Veterans Court. She was very involved with St. James Church sitting on many of their committees. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired First Sgt. William G. "Butch" Hopkins and parents, Gaston Gerard and Mary Theresa Poulin. She is survived by three children, Michael Palmer of Rockland, ME., Louise (Mishuan) Goeman of Norridgewock, ME., and Erika (Derek) Kyes of Richmond, GA.; one brother, David Poulin of Albuquerque, NM.; and four grandchildren, Journye Goeman, Isabel Goeman, Xzavior Goeman, and Caleb Palmer. A funeral mass will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Sanders officiating. Reception to follow from 5-8 p.m. in Batcheldor Hall at St. James. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hardin County Treatment Courts.
