William R. Tackett

William R. Tackett, 91, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Ohio and retired from the U. S. Army, having served during WWII and Vietnam and later retired from Fort Knox Civil Service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113 and Mt. Moriah Two Bridges Masonic Lodge in Germany. He was an avid gardner and lover of wildlife. He loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Sina Lou Tackett; and siblings, Dorothy Burns, Ronnie Tackett, Norman Tackett, Franklin Tackett, Cinda Young, Edith Roberts, and Flossie Lacey. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Tackett; five siblings, Daniel (Pat) Tackett, Clement (Linda) Tackett, Lois (Joe) Eden, Mary Laughbaum, and Gloria Jean (Roger) Laipply all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday at 12 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
