Allen Wayne Davis, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home. He was a native of Longview, Texas, a member of First Christian church, and served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam War. He was the courier at Citizens Bank, worked for the security company at Fort Knox, and retired from the Civil Service where he was range patrol. Allen also loved to bowl and was a pet lover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Best Davis; parents, Edgar and Adell Smith Davis; two brothers, Pete and Jimmy; and three sisters, Patsy, Delores, and Edrie. He is survived by four children, David (May Dailey) Davis, Doug (Laura) Davis, Dennis (Laura) Davis, and Deanna (John) Pike all of Elizabethtown; two brother-in-laws, Howard Carter, Jr. and Riley Best both of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Pam, Cera, Ashlee, Tyler, Ryan, Caleb, and Matthew; and two great grandchildren, Karson and Alexandria. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home with Brother Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
