Robert Lloyd Nichols, 79 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Eastview and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He attended Western Kentucky University for two years, was an avid UK fan and retired from E-town Laundry after more than 30 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lois Hamilton Nichols; his parents, Maxie and Velma Hart Nichols and three brothers and one sister. He is survived by three children, William M. "Bill" Nichols (Kristi) and Robin Bush (Dan) all of Elizabethtown, and Steve Nichols (Tracy) of Cecilia; five grandchildren, Victoria, Alexander, Katelin, Josh (Deseare) and Megan (James) and five great grandchildren, Garrett, Alana, Jameson, Cheyenne Adams and Janice Miller. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with his nephew Bro. Mitch Ash officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
