Dorothy "Dotty" Coyle Bolls

Dorothy "Dotty" Coyle Bolls was born June 23, 1942 at Norton's Hospital in Louisville. Her parents were Wilbur and Mercy Coyle. She passed away March 4, 2018 at Kensington Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Elizabethtown, KY at the age of 75. She was a resident of Hardin County her entire life although she and her husband had a house built in Arizona upon their retirement in 2004 that served as a second home. She married Larry G. Bolls on June 3, 1967 and they enjoyed a very loving marriage for more than 50 years. Dotty's working years included Taylor-Overall Realty, the Kentucky Department of Highways, the United States Senate, and the Kentucky Department for Families and Children. She took great pride in helping others and strived to do so in both her professional positions as well as her private life. She was a member of Needham Cumberland Presbyterian Church from a young age. According to the current roster, she had been a member longer than any other. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, Horace Nichols, and her father, Wilbur Coyle, she served as a third generation Elder. Following in the footsteps of her grandmother, Maggie Nichols, and mother, Mercy Coyle, she was also past president of the Cumberland Presbyterian's Women's Mission group at the church. She was a member of the Elizabethtown Police Department Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association where her favorite project was "Shop With A Cop", she was licensed real estate sales person, and was a Kentucky Colonel. She is survived by her husband, Larry Bolls; her son, Tom Bolls; her cousin, Ann Nichols; her sister-in-law, Kay Fouts; her brother-in-law, Bob Fouts; Tom's fiancé, Vicki Krause; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
