Jerry J. Speck

Jerry J. Speck, 79, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born in Barren County and grew up primarily in southeastern Kentucky. He retired from Gates Rubber Company in 2000. He was a member of the Christian Church, a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, a graduate of the University of Louisville and a 56 year member of Epes Randolph Lodge #23 F & AM in Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcoln C. Speck and Mary Sharp Speck; one brother; Michael L. Speck and a sister, Judy Speck Milby. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Clancie Atherton Speck, and two sisters, Molly S. Hagan and Rosemary S. Gibson. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
