Dora Dean Abell Masterson, 83, of Munfordville, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Kensington Center. She was a native of Hardin County and loved to read. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Altor Masterson; one daughter, Kay Gaddie; her parents, Elzie and Mary Katherine Elliott Abell; three sisters, Frances Kerr, Hazel Kerr, and Carolyn Sue Masterson; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Kerrick. She is survived by two sons, William M. (Shirley) Masterson and Joseph A. (Janice) Masterson all of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Rita (Larry) Fraze of Munfordville; son-in-law, Michael Gaddie of Elizabethtown; brother, Shirley "Bud" (Mary Helen) Abell of Radcliff; sister, Joyce Nichols of Elizabethtown; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The funeral is Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Friday and continues after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society.
