Margaret Ann Leslie Dalton

Margaret Ann Leslie Dalton, 77, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky died on 23 December 2017. Margaret was born on September 10, 1940 in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Issac Theodore (I.T.) Leslie and Thelma Mae (Wilcox). She is preceded in death by her brother Lee Roy Leslie and sister, Lula Mae Leslie. Margaret is survived by her son Richard Dalton, daughter, Cheryl Dalton Carr (Duane), four Grand Children: Matthew (Heather) Dalton, Amanda Dalton, Brittany Carr (Rob) Joiner, and Brooke Carr, and two Great Grand Children, Rylee Carr, baby Lucas Joiner, a Sister Betty Leslie Johnson. She also leaves behind nephew, William Haley and special friend and Cousin Mary Kay Perry. Margie worked in the restaurant industry for over 40 year before retirement. At work and home, she had a servant’s heart for people consistently putting others before her in a selfless manner. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the University of Louisville Cardinals basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball games with her family. An avid nature watcher who especially enjoyed watching the squirrels feed and play in the trees and liked watching the beautiful Cardinals and Blue-Jays frolic in their birdbath and sing songs. She was a wonderful kind, considerate and loving person will spend eternity in heaven with the Lord and rest in peace after a two year courageous battle with cancer. She lived a simple life not focusing on materialistic item, but with emphasis on her family as the most important priority. Mom, Grandma & Great Grandma was an especially gifted encourager, inspirer and a very compassionate listener. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the jewels in her life. Margaret Dalton had a profound influence on numerous family and friends she encountered. The family will miss her dearly as well as “Eddie”, her prized Shih Po.. He was a dedicated and devoted companion for the last ten years of her life and by her side until the end. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society in her name. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
