Joseph Kindred "J.K." Banks

Retired Master Sergeant Joseph Kindred (J.K.) Banks, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away at his home on Friday 17 November 2017. He was born 13 January 1942 in Fort Knox, KY. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Army Military Police Corp. He was a Boy Scout and a member of Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #113 and DAV. He did volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America, Kentucky Hunter Education where he was a Bow Hunter Instructor, and NRA. He was a volunteer Fort Knox Game Warden for 29 years and Chief Military Police Game Warden for 5 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Crockett and Verna Mae Hart Banks and a granddaughter, Hailey Raeann Banks. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Calla Rae McClure Banks; three sons, Crockett Hardin and Kindred Ray Banks both of Elizabethtown, KY, and Robert Gregory (Barbara) Banks of Bardstown, KY; a sister, Louatha (Dave) Cheese of Danville, KY; a brother, Robert James (Lynn) Banks of Roanoke, VA; and three grandchildren, Amanda, Landon, and Adalyn. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and continues after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Donor's favorite charity.
