Irvin Norman Besser, 87, of Prospect, KY, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Helmwood Healthcare in Elizabethtown, KY. He was born July 10, 1930 in Louisville, KY. He was the son of William and Anna Besser. Irvin graduated from DuPont Manual High School, class of 1948. He retired from Merrick Co. as a sheet metal worker and was a committed member of the sheet metal workers union. Irvin was a member of Oldham County Country Club for many years and loved to play golf there. He enjoyed spending time with family, seeing old friends, and his dog, Cassie. Irvin was prededed in death by his parents, William and Anna Besser; his brother, William Besser; his sister, Annabell Kolb; his wife Vergie Besser; his son, David Besser and his daughter, Cynthia Guerrero. Left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Besser and his grandchildren, Jordan Guerrero and Mason Guerrero. A private memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association or the Oldham County Humane Society.
