Arnold T. Burke

Arnold Talmadge Burke, 83 of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his home with his family. He was a native of Eastern Kentucky, a member of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle group. He retired after 20 years from the U.S. Air Force having served two tours in Vietnam and also retired from General Telephone. He proudly served his country, blessed to be a part of God's Kingdom and especially grateful for the abundant love and support of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lewis and Kizzie Jane Belcher Burke and a sister, Barbara Todd. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Burke; two sons, Dennis (Melinda) Burke of Maryland and Gary (Dawn) Burke of Florida; two daughters, Valerie (Mark) Habeeb of North Carolina and Cindy (John) Castagnola of California; two brothers, Larry Burke of Valley Station and Jerry Burke of Owensboro; three sisters, Odetta Tucker of Louisville, Brenda Sipes Wade of Shelbyville and Sharon Jones of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Alex, Maggie, Adam, Annie, Erin, Shannon, Dillon, Lindsay, Landon and Sean and one great granddaughter, Evelyn. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home. There will be a Prayer Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arnold Burke's lunch program at St. James Catholic School, 401 Robinbrooke Blvd., Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
